Is Casey going to leave Chicago Fire?

CHICAGO Lieutenant Matt Casey’s absence would be felt throughout the fire department.

However, Season 10 of the popular show has hinted at his departure, leading fans to believe he is quitting Firehouse 51.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Season 10, Episode 4 of the show.

Casey, played by Jesse Spencer, went out of town in Episode 4 to see how Griffin and Ben were doing.

He wants to help kids, but the social worker and the school guidance counselor disagreed when he suggested bringing them back to Chicago to be their guardian.

The boys have a link to their current town and can visit their mother in prison because they are close by.

Will Casey relocate to be near them so that he may serve as their guardian?

What about his girlfriend Silvie Brett, another topic that arises?

The couple FINALLY got together at the end of Season 9, and fans are adoring their love story – surely the authors want to keep it going?

Also, this isn’t the first time the showrunners have considered removing Casey from the series.

The character previously suffered a terrible head injury in Season 9, which limited his capacity to combat fires for a while.

It appeared that he would have to quit the program, allowing Spencer to do the same if he so desired.

Thankfully, this did not occur, and Casey was able to return to the screen.

Jesse Spencer hasn’t confirmed that he’ll be leaving Chicago Fire, but that doesn’t rule it out.

He has been a part of the show since its inception in 2012, therefore his departure would be a huge loss for the show.

Jesse’s contract status is uncertain, given his last public renewal was in 2019, but the actor has nothing but positive things to say about his time on the show and hasn’t signed up for any other major roles.

The actor has previously spoken about numerous stories he’ll be a part of in Season 10, giving us optimism that he’ll be back.
