Is Atlus hinting a Persona 6 surprise with the introduction of the Persona 25th Anniversary website?
This week, ATLUS developed a webpage to commemorate Persona’s 25th anniversary. And there could be a tease for Persona 6 – the next mainline entry in the JRPG series – lurking inside it.
Persona, one of the most well-known JRPG series, will celebrate its 25th anniversary later this year. On September 20, 2021, it will be 25 years since the original Persona game, Revelations, was released in Japan on the PlayStation 1. Atlus had hinted at “exciting” plans to commemorate the Persona series’ 50th anniversary.
And now, this week, we’ve learned about the developer’s enormous intentions in Tokyo.
The Persona 25th Anniversary website has just gone up, according to Persona Central.
According to the site, Atlus intends to make a year’s worth of announcements between September 2021 and September 2022.
To commemorate Persona’s 25th anniversary, Atlus will reveal seven new projects.
And it appears that one of these projects could be Persona 6, the series’ next mainline entry.
The Anniversary website features a goods area, as Persona Central pointed out on Twitter.
Pages in this section of the website could also be teasing things branded with the Persona 6 protagonist and artwork.
“One of the sets of Persona 25th Anniversary items is teasing a new main character, and what may potentially be the face of Persona 6,” wrote Persona Central on Twitter.
“Similarly, this collection of Persona series acrylic stands (11 in total) for the 25th anniversary include all of the mainline titles (only remakes for P1/P2, except FES), with two secret covers exhibited following the Persona 5 Royal cover,” it continued.
Fans have speculated that the key artwork for the Persona 25th Anniversary website may have also revealed anything about Persona 6.
According to a Reddit thread, the Anniversary artwork could hint that Persona 6’s major color motif would be white.
“In case you didn’t know, Atlus posted an anniversary graphic of Persona depicting all the protagonists and a rainbow logo saying “25,” as one Redditor put it.
“The logo really includes all of the colors from each Persona game in order, followed by white, implying that white could be the prominent color in Persona 6.”
