In ‘Hawkeye,’ we need to keep an eye on Eleanor Bishop – can she be trusted?
There are spoilers in this article for the Disney Plus series Hawkeye.
Hawkeye’s first two episodes are now available to watch on Disney Plus, and the miniseries is a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite the fact that many characters return, the series exposes viewers to a number of new characters.
Kate Bishop, Echo, Lucky the Pizza Dog, and Eleanor Bishop are four of the most well-known characters making their live-action premiere. The first three heroes are probably well-known among Marvel fans, but what about Eleanor? Continue reading to learn everything there is to know about the character.
Eleanor Bishop was the matriarch of a wealthy Manhattan dynasty in the comics. She married Derek Bishop, a businessman, and the pair produced two daughters, Susan and Kate. Eleanor lacked superpowers and a vigilante persona, unlike the bulk of other Marvel heroes. We assumed she was simply another regular individual.
Eleanor apparently died during a visit to Boulder, Colorado, according to Young Avengers Vol 2 No. 5. As a result, Derek was left to care for their kids alone; instead, he preferred to immerse himself in his profession and avoid Susan and Kate.

Kate had been interested by the mystery surrounding her mother’s death for quite some time. She eventually started looking into it, but what she found was both strange and heartbreaking. Kate discovered that Eleanor’s death was the fault of her father, Derek. Not only that, but he was working for Madame Masque, Kate’s arch-enemy.
Kate and Clint Barton battle the West Coast Masters of Evil in an issue of West Coast Avengers. After Kate is nearly killed in the conflict, she is saved by her mother, Eleanor. She also admits that she is working with Madame Masque, which is unfortunate.
Eleanor admits that she is a vampire later in the series; after her husband and Kate’s father Derek abandoned her, she began working with Madame Masque in exchange for an antidote to her vampirism.
Eleanor Bishop, I adore you.
Eleanor Bishop is played by horror queen Vera Farmiga in the MCU live-action miniseries Hawkeye. Her backstory, on the other hand, appears to diverge from her comic storyline.
The most obvious difference is that in the show, Eleanor is alive and well, although her husband Derek Bishop is reportedly dead… Brinkwire in a nutshell.
