In a letter to a Memphis Mafia member, Elvis Presley gushed about his new German lover.

ELVIS PRESLEY expressed his dissatisfaction with his situation in Germany before announcing that, despite having a girlfriend in the United States, he had started dating a new girl while in Europe.

In 1957, Elvis Presley was on the verge of becoming a household name after releasing five smash albums and a string of hit singles, including Hound Dog and Blue Suede Shoes. He’d also gone to Hollywood and appeared in a few films, including Jailhouse Rock, which helped him gain even more notoriety. When he was enlisted into the United States Army, it came as quite a shock. In 1958, the singer was assigned to an army camp in Friedberg, Germany, in preparation for a tour of duty in the United States.

The celebrity stayed in Germany until 1960, when he returned to the United States and resumed his acting career.

During this period, Elvis reached a new level of celebrity when he began to be pursued by a number of ladies.

Elvis bragged about being in “Grind City” with a new female in a letter to one of his closest pals, Alan “Hog Ears” Fortis, a member of the Memphis Mafia.

“I’ve been dating this little German ‘Chuckaloid’ named Margrit [Buergin],” he added.

Elvis also stated that his new fling resembled “BB,” which is an abbreviation for Brigitte Bardot, a famous French actress.

Margrit, like the aforementioned singer and actress, was exceedingly blonde and slender.

“It’s Grind City,” Elvis said. So, I’m off to wade through the mud.”

These remarks could have been slang for something else unrelated, or they could have been a reference to what Elvis was up to with Margrit.

Elvis and Margrit were supposedly only together for a short period, but she was the first woman he met in Germany.

She was only 16 at the time, and the couple’s connection made the news in Friedberg.

Elvis was even dubbed a “cad” by the press because he dated so quickly (Via Our Daily Elvis).

His boasting about finding a new woman is all the more unexpected given that he was meant to be dating Anita Wood, his boyhood sweetheart.

He wasn’t always happy in Germany, though. He also complained to Hog Ears about how unhappy he was.

“Well you know I am bound to be pretty lonely or I wouldn’t be writing,” Elvis wrote in the same letter.Brinkwire Summary News”.
