Jessie Wallace, who has appeared in BBC EastEnders on and off for more than two decades, has shared a ‘cute’ throwback photo from her childhood, which has gone viral.

In an incredible childhood photo, EastEnders actress Jessie Wallace looks completely unrecognizable.

The 50-year-old shared a photo from 1975, when she was only four years old.

In Walthamstow market, the soap star, who has appeared in EastEnders on and off for over two decades, is seen holding a monkey.

“I’m the one in the flares!” she joked alongside the major throwback snap.

Her fans were quick to compliment her on how “cute” she was in the comments section of the post.

“You were and are absolutely beautiful,” one person said.

“That’s such an amazing pic, so cute x,” wrote another.

“I’m torn between you and the monkey in terms of absolute cuteness,” a third added.

Karen, Jessie’s birth name, was born in Enfield, England, in 1971.

After her parents divorced when she was three years old, she was raised by her father.

After she turned 50 last year, fans were taken aback by her youthful appearance.

In 2000, she debuted in Albert Square as the rowdy, big-mouthed Kat, alongside the rest of the Slater family.

With her character being revealed to be her “younger sister” Zoe’s mother, Jessie has been at the center of some of the BBC soap’s biggest storylines.

After viewers fell in love with the double-act, she landed her own spin-off show Redwater with Queen Vic landlord Alfie Moon.

Rose Ayling-Ellis, the winner of Strictly Come Dancing, recently shared an insight into her return to EastEnders after the competition.

Rose, who portrays Frankie Lewis, took a break from acting to “focus” on competing on Strictly Come Dancing, which paid off when she and professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice won the Glitterball trophy.

“Normally, EastEnders makes you work while doing Strictly,” she told Metro.co.uk, “but EastEnders gave me time off so I can just focus on Strictly.”

Rose captioned a photo on social media, “Frankie is back!”
