In 2021, ‘Charlie Brown Thanksgiving’ and ‘Christmas’ will not be available for free streaming.

Fans of the Peanuts gang will be disappointed to learn that, unlike last year, the Charlie Brown holiday specials will not be available to stream for free in 2021.

Although specials such as A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown are once again available on Apple TV(plus), they are not free, unlike in 2020.

Last year, Apple TV(plus) offered the Peanuts specials for free in order to entice new subscribers, but this year, you’ll have to pay the (dollar)4.99 monthly subscription fee to see the gang.

The Charlie Brown holiday specials are one of Apple TV(plus)’s most significant intellectual property acquisitions in the so-called streaming wars.

When the specials were not broadcast on broadcast TV as usual in 2020, some fans were confused and even outraged, but Apple offered free streaming access as a consolation.

The streaming giant is reversing this arrangement in 2021, so the specials will air on PBS at specific times, but you’ll have to pay for Apple TV(plus) if you want to watch them on your own schedule.

Subscribing yearly for (dollar)49.99 will also save you some money.

This will suffice for fans of the classic Peanuts episodes, but for those interested in what’s next, Apple TV(plus) is the only option.

According to Variety, the streaming service will debut a brand new holiday special this year called For Auld Lang Syne.

It’ll be a New Year’s Eve special that will air on December 31st.
