‘I’m afraid not,’ Monty Don says about the future of the beloved BBC gardening series.

MONTY DON spoke candidly about his presenting work on BBC Radio 2 about the future of a well-loved BBC gardening series.

Monty Don is the long-running host of Gardeners’ World and Big Dreams, Small Spaces, and is widely regarded as the nation’s favorite gardening expert.

However, the horticulturist has not appeared on either of the cosy BBC shows since last year, leaving fans wondering when he will return to the small screen.

Monty has provided an update to BBC Radio 2 listeners on the uncertain future of one of his favorite shows.

Monty, who has been the lead presenter for Gardeners’ World since 2003, was interviewed by Zoe Ball on Thursday’s episode of her self-titled BBC 2 Radio breakfast show.Zoe, 51, was curious if Monty had any plans to record more episodes of Big Dreams, Small Spaces in the near future.

Monty said: “There are no plans, but I would love to.”So if anyone from the BBC is listening to that, myself and the production team would love to do more Big Dreams, Small Spaces.”We’ve been asking the BBC about it for a number of years so watch this space.”

But, for the time being, I’m afraid not.”

The gardener also told Zoe about his family’s Christmas not going as planned.

“How was the holiday season for you and your family?” Zoe inquired of the gardener. Monty responded, “It was quiet.”

We, like I’m sure many other families, had a run-in with Covid.”Not directly, but it meant that all plans had to be rearranged at the last minute, and you know how people can’t go one way or the other.”
