I’m a mother of 11 and I’m tired of people making assumptions about me – trolls assume our home is in chaos, yet I’m highly organized.

AFTER having children, most of us mothers accept that we will never have a clean house again… at least not until they are 18 years old.

Joanne O’Rourke has kept her home precisely as she loves it despite the fact that she has 11 children living under her roof.

The 38-year-old from Barnet, North London, detailed to MyLondon how she and her husband Tommy divide household responsibilities.

The mother stated: “People make snap judgments about us before getting to know us; they assume our home is chaotic, which is not the case.

“Tommy and I have been together for 21 years and are a great combination; neither of us could manage the show without the other, so we collaborate. Everything is shared, from the cooking to the school run.” Tommy is in charge of sorting the goodies for the kids’ lunchboxes every evening, while Joanne prepares the sandwiches the next morning.

Tommy, a forklift driver, leaves for work at 3 a.m., and Joanne begins preparing breakfast at 6:30 a.m.

Both Joanne and Tommy do their fair share of the cooking, and they’ve cut their weekly grocery bill to £180, or £13.85 per person.

Joanne went on to say that they have to meal plan all of the time: “We often make stuff like handmade burgers, sticky chicken, fried chicken, and campfire stew, which we create ourselves. I also create a mum-ssaka, which is my version of a moussaka.

“In our house, a major favorite is my own creation, which is half spag bowl and half shepherds pie, which we made by mistake.”

The pair has had to get inventive with storage because they live in a four-bedroom house.

“Because we had four bedrooms, Tommy built triple beds, one more than a bunkbed, plus a trundle underneath with another bed,” Joanne explained. “We’ve also transformed unused space into shoe and school uniform storage.” Tommy and Joanne met in a nightclub in 2000 and had their first child Mitchell, now 18 years old, in July 2003.

Following Mitchell’s birth, the couple had another child every 18 months and fostered their niece, giving them a total of eight males and three girls at home.

The mother went on to say: “We’re all really close, and our house is full of interesting individuals. For birthdays, Halloween, and Christmas, we strive to go all out.

“I’d say we’re a lot of fun as parents. We want the kids to be able to look back on their lives in years to come… Brinkwire News in a Nutshell
