‘He is undoubtedly aware.’ Derek Draper is ecstatic about Kate Garraway’s NTA victory.
KATE GARRAWAY has spoken up about telling her husband Derek Draper about their NTAs victory on Thursday night.
Kate Garraway and Martin Lewis were back to host the ITV show Good Morning Britain on Friday, discussing the latest news topics. Kate’s win at the NTAs on Thursday night, where the mother-of-two took home an award for her documentary, Finding Derek, was one of the primary subjects of discussion. Kate triumphed over Roman Kemp and Katie Price, who were both in the running for the accolade.
Kate informed her co-host on Friday’s GMB about how she broke the news to Derek.
She went on to say that she called her daughter Darcy after she won to inform her husband the good news.
“Last night, I didn’t go home. Kate remarked, “It’s not as big a controversy as it appears.”
“I knew I’d be coming here today, and I knew I’d only get about an hour’s sleep, so I got a hotel room near the ceremony.”
“I managed to wake Darcy up on her phone today, so I apologize to her teachers at her school,” she continued.
“I asked her to take your phone down to dad, and she woke him up,” she added. He was a little perplexed.
“However, he is well aware. That’s something I’ve captured on film. I took a picture of myself showing him on my phone.
“I believe he was overjoyed. It’s clear in his eyes. He was ecstatic that I was pleased, and it was wonderful to be able to share that with him.”
More to come…
