Hawkeye Teases Marvel’s West Coast Avengers with a Big Hint

The first two episodes of Marvel’s Hawkeye TV series are now available to view on Disney(plus). Clint Barton (Jeremey Renner) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) are on the run on the streets of New York City as Barton’s history catches up with him. (Warning: Minor Spoilers) After Kate unintentionally discovers Clint’s old Ronin suit and dons it, a slew of bad people arrive seeking vengeance. When Kate and Barton’s apartment is broken into (read: attacked), they need a safe place to hide. Kate has a suggestion for a place to stay: Moira Brandon’s flat! From the new (hashtag)Hawkeye TV spot, here’s a fun easter egg: Moira Brandon was an actress who sold her mansion to the West Coast Avengers, who used it as their headquarters.

(hashtag)Hawkeye (hashtag)eastereggs pic.twitter.comujly4VMP6KAs Marvel fans have been quick to respond to those who have inquired: Moira Brandon is a minor character who serves as the West Coast Avengers’ only “Honorary Member.” Moira was a former Hollywood actress whose career had waned. Moira wanted to sell her Palos Verdes estate, which she did and sold to the West Coast Avengers, who turned it into their official Avengers Compound on the west coast. When Hawkeye and his wife Mockingbird arrived to inspect the property, they were ambushed by Marvel villain Crossfire; Moira saved the heroes’ lives at the expense of her own. Moira was designated an honorary West Coast Avenger by Hawkeye as she gave her final act (a death scene).

Since the premiere of the new Hawkeye TV series, fans have been clamoring for Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye to live up to his comic book pedigree and command a West Coast Avengers team in the MCU. Renner himself has welcomed the concept, telling BBC Radio 1’s Ali Plumb: “I believe… well, look, he was the West Coast Avengers’ leader,” Renner stated. “As a Captain America commander, I’d love to see him in that kind of capacity.” Actually, I believe he would be successful in this endeavor. Isn’t it you who’s in charge and does these kinds of things? Instead of being more like a wide receiver as a quarterback, Summary of Entertainment News from Brinkwire.
