‘Go or Stop’ is Sunmi’s new theme song and music video for DWG KIA, the esports champions.
Sunmi has released a joyful theme tune suitable for clubbing to promote DWG KIA at the League of Legends World Championship in 2021.
South Korea is one of the leading countries in terms of entertainment. K-pop has become the country’s most valuable cultural asset as a result of the sudden global Hallyu Wave. The same can be true for technological advancements. They have one of the fastest internet connections in the world and are continually creating new technology to meet our needs. South Korea appears to be going all out, from realistic virtual concerts to immersive esports experiences. This can be seen again with Sunmi’s participation in the forthcoming League of Legends world championship.
On October 11, Sunmi released the music video for ‘Go or Stop.’ It can be regarded a theme song for the DWG KIA squad from South Korea (Damwon Kia). They are Korea’s esports champions, having won the League of Legends Champions Korea trophy for the first time in 2020. They also won the 2020 World Championship in the same year (League of Legends). Sunmi collaborated with the South Korean squad for this year’s edition, releasing ‘Go or Stop’ hours before their match for the 2021 World Championship.

Sunmi’s ‘Go or Stop’ cheers on DWG KIA at the 2021 World Championship.
As esports become increasingly popular, international artists are banding together to support their respective countries’ teams. With a special collaboration music video, the American team 100 Thieves had Lil Nas X rooting for them. Sunmi, a K-pop icon from South Korea, is in charge of the South Korean contingent. Sunmi appeared on DWG KIA’s YouTube in January, bringing together K-pop and League of Legends fans for the first time. She had previously starred in a humorous segment in which she assisted team member ShowMaker in taking the perfect selfie.
The music video for ‘Go or Stop’ is a wonderful cinematic piece directed by the idol herself. Sunmi channels her inner gamer in the song video, which is full of house and trap rhythms. She is seen dancing to the powerful music beneath neon strobe lights and sci-fi accessories, with baby pink hair. Sunmi is also getting ready for her first online concert, ‘Good Girl Gone Mad.’ It’ll be her first performance since her world tour ended in 2019. On October 30th, at 2 p.m. KST, the concert will take place (1 am ET). Tickets are available for purchase at the Weverse Shop.
