Giancarlo Esposito felt ‘ill-equipped’ to play Moff Gideon: ‘The Mandalorian’

Esposito has been a Star Wars fan all his life and couldn’t wait to star in the film, as he says in an interview on the ‘Star Wars’ YouTube channel.

“I’ve always been a very big fan of the early Star Wars movies and the world in which they exist,”I have always been a very big fan of the early Star Wars movies and the world in which they exist. “I was head over heels when I was asked by Jon Favreau to do this series.”

He was still fond of Darth Vader.

In previous films, Esposito was often intrigued by Darth Vader and enjoyed the dynamic nature of the Vader character.

“I’ve always been fascinated with Darth Vader,” Esposito said. “I thought that inside that very, very tough and rough exterior could be a human being who has the ability to shed some light on our space odyssey in our galaxy.”

Until filming, the versatile actor studied ‘Star Wars’ thoroughly.

Knowing that many fans of ‘Star Wars’ might be very enthusiastic about the franchise, before accepting his part, he made sure to do loads of research.

Esposito said, “I was heavily influenced by Peter Cushing, who also played the Moff many, many years ago,” “And I tried to do research because I knew the fans knew a lot more about Star Wars than I did.”

For the role of Moff Gideon, Giancarlo Esposito worked hard to get into character,

Espotio had to think carefully about how he wanted to handle the role of Mof Gideon on the first day of shooting.

“On my first day of shooting, I came in a TIE fighter and landed,” Esposito said. And then I will be led into combat with 300 Stormtroopers.

And all I can think of in my mind is: I’m Moff Gideon. To get what I want, I don’t have to do or say anything, because I’m going to get it.

The first day of shooting laid the groundwork for the Mof Gideon character’s discovery of Esposito.

“That standoff was the beginning of me finding the balance of that character,” said Esposito.

He takes his art very seriously, very seriously.

Esposito has a very clear sense of what it means in each of his performances to be an actor and the obligation he has.

I have to reflect the images I see and feel that are not really in front of me for me as an actor, so that you can see the world mirrored by my eyes,”For me as an actor, I have to reflect the images that I see and feel that aren’t really in front of me, so you can see that world reflected through my vision,” “And you get a real sense of it.”

‘Star Wars’ empowers young people, says Giancarlo Esposito

Esposito argues that the “Star Wars” franchise, beyond entertainment, teaches children valuable lessons about the influence of their decisions and how to do good in the world.

Esposito said, “This is a series that empowers people to be who they are,” “We are in a world that is new.

And our young people need to be motivated more than ever before in history to think about the effect they will personally have on our planet.

And that effect is really based on Star Wars and encourages them to dream, enables them to wonder, and generates a sense of empowerment to be a hero.
