‘From one bully to another,’ Trump said, slamming Kyle Rittenhouse for ‘congratulating’ him.
Kyle Rittenhouse has been found “innocent of all charges,” according to Donald Trump.
After Kyle Rittenhouse, 18, was found not guilty of shooting two men in the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin, on August 25, 2020, Donald Trump congratulated him.
The teen had claimed self-defense after shooting the men with an AR-15-style assault rifle.
On Friday, November 19, the former president issued a brief statement through his political action committee, in which he stated that it was a clear case of self-defense.
First-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety were all filed against Rittenhouse.
The teen was found not guilty of all five charges against him by a jury in Kenosha.
As the verdict was read, Rittenhouse shook and collapsed to the floor, making headlines.
Kyle Rittenhouse was mocked for expressing his desire to work as a nurse, saying, “I’d straight flatline.”
Kyle Rittenhouse’s decision: 5 ways the prosecution botched the case
Kyle Rittenhouse has been acquitted, according to Donald Trump.
Liz Harington, a member of Trump’s political action committee, posted the official statement on Twitter.
“Congratulations to Kyle Rittenhouse for being found INNOCENT of all charges,” the post read.
It’s known as being found NOT GUILTY—and, by the way, nothing beats self-defense!”
President Joe Biden also made headlines after being chastised for reversing his position on the same case.
During his 2020 presidential campaign, Biden vehemently condemned Kyle Rittenhouse’s actions and chastised his predecessor Trump for not condemning White supremacists.
President Biden, on the other hand, announced on November 19 that he stands by the verdict, reversing his previous position.
“I didn’t watch the trial,” Biden said.
Look, I agree with the jury’s decision.
The jury system is in place, and we must follow it.”
