QUEEN ELIZABETH II paid a special visit to Manchester today to view the historic Coronation Street set. The monarch wore a stunning ruby brooch that had previously belonged to the Queen Mother for the occasion.

Queen Elizabeth II was seen laughing and joking with Coronation Street cast members today as she was given a tour of the studio in Manchester’s Media City. The princess wore a unique brooch for the occasion, which has only been worn a few times before.

The visit coincided with the show’s 60th anniversary.

Queen Elizabeth wore a lovely blue coat with huge buttons along the middle, as well as a matching cap.

The Queen is known for attaching brooches to her outfits, and today was no exception, with a gorgeous floral brooch fastened to her coat.

The Queen Mother’s Ruby Bouquet Brooch, one of the biggest in her collection, has been worn by the monarch for both daytime and evening occasions.

The brooch was studded with diamonds and rubies and featured a spray of crystallized flowers and scrolls.

A lovely tiny bow near the bottom of the brooch gathers the flowers.

When the Queen Mother died in 2002, it is thought that the Queen inherited the jewel.

In her final years, the Queen Mother wore the brooch alongside the Crown Rubies.

It’s interesting to note that this is only the seventh occasion the Queen has worn the ruby brooch.

She first wore it in Northern Ireland in March 2008, then again in 2014 at a gala banquet during her official visit to France.

The Queen chose it again during her state visit to Germany in June 2015, a year later.

It was most last seen in 2019 when the Queen wore it to a Christmas Day church service.

She wore it with a bright red coat for the occasion, which nicely matched the gorgeous rubies.

Royal fans praised the Queen’s look today on Twitter, where they shared their comments on the brooch’s unusual appearance.

“Her Majesty is such an inspiration, and she looks wonderful in blue,” one user remarked.

“Beautiful, always wears a great outfit,” commented another.

A third tweeted, “Love that color, she looks wonderful.”

Princess Beatrice and Sophie, Countess of Wessex were among the Royal Family members who attended the opening of the Ladies Singles Semi-Finals at Wimbledon today, joining the Queen.

“Brinkwire Summary News” was written for the occasion.
