Fans spot a clue that the Masked Singer Mushroom is a Loose Women star.

ITV viewers have spotted a major clue that could lead to THE MASKED SINGER’S Mushroom being revealed as a famous cruise ship singer.

On Saturday evening, The Masked Singer returned to ITV for a new season of the costume-driven singing competition.

The five remaining acts were introduced by host Joel Dommett, with Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, and Davina McCall attempting to guess their identities.

When Mushroom took the stage to sing Grease’s There Are Worse Things I Could Do, fans were convinced they knew who was behind the mask.

Mushroom wowed the judges with a stunning rendition of There Are Worse Things I Could Do from the musical Grease.

Davina guessed the woman behind the mask could be former cruise ship singer and Loose Women star Jane McDonald after the stellar performance judge.

Jane was born in Wakefield, Yorkshire, and the Mushroom left a clue that she was from there.

Following the clue, fans took to Twitter to express their belief that Davina was correct, with @pwflia writing: “I feel like Mushroom is Jane McDonald, given the clues she gave about getting up early, which made me think of Loose Women, then about traveling, which made me think of the cruise show, yeah I think it’s Jane McDonald.”

The 58-year-old singer and TV host spent much of her early career performing in Wakefield before landing cruise ship jobs.

“Mushroom is 100 per cent Jane McDonald, [it’s] got to be. (hashtag)MaskedSingerUK,” Jason, another ITV viewer, tweeted, believing Jane was behind the mask.

“Mushroom is Jane McDonald?” Isla Mercer continued, “W for Wakefield, been all over the world… (hashtag)TheMaskedSinger.”

Wakefield, Loose Women, and her cruising show, among other things.”

Jane rose to fame after appearing on the BBC show The Cruise in 1998, the same year her debut album, Jane McDonald, debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart.
