Fans have attacked the NCIS LA season 13 theme tune, chanting, “Go back to the original!”

NCIS: LA fans were left less than impressed when they tuned into Sunday evening’s season 13 premiere when they discovered the CBS drama’s iconic theme song had been changed.

The 13th season of NCIS: Los Angeles returned with a bang on Sunday evening as the likes of Hetty Lange (played by Linda Hunt), Kilbride (Gerard McRaney), Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) were all thrown straight back into action. However, while Subject 17 dealt with the return of Joelle (Elizabeth Bogush) and Densi’s family plans, it was the show’s opening title sequence that caught the eye.

And sadly, it wasn’t all for the right reasons as a number of CBS viewers weren’t best pleased with the revamped theme music.

While sticking to the show’s upbeat and high-tempo sound, the NCIS LA opening sequence was slightly tweaked to provide a fresh take on the famous song.

But taking to social media after hearing the new music, a number of fans were not happy.

Twitter user @f0rcrying0utl0ud vented: “#NCISLA No, no, no, no! NCIS LA has changed their opening credits music!”

While Ryan Spooner echoed: “@CBSTVStudios OMG, what have you done to the @NCISLA theme music?

“Absolutely horrible. I’ll never get used to that, such a bad version of the original.”

User @BarrhavenGuy concurred: “New intro music is weak. Go back to the original composition.”

“The music is different. #NCISLA,” Colleen pointed out while Samantha admitted: “Don’t like the change to the opening music #NCISLA.”

Alex Druid added to the debate by mentioning the show’s Twitter account directly, penning: “I think you should have left the theme tune well alone…

“This one is flat, dull, uninteresting, conveys no suspense or action, and is generally dismal … who the hell authorised that? What made someone think ‘Oh, that theme tune needs changing’? Change for change’s sake.” (Sic)

However, there was some support for the major change to the show’s opening credits, as Aron Soto hit back: “@NCISLA I’m feeling the new theme. Still the classic intro is my favorite. #welcomeback.”

While @Reddotdiva added: “Whoa. Did @NCISLA reboot their opening theme song? I like it!”

Audrey was a bit more on the fence with her take: “Not sure how I feel about the new theme song but I like that it focuses on the main 4 #NCISLA.”

Despite the backlash, neither CBS nor. “Brinkwire Summary News”.
