‘Excellent stuff!’ says the Chase contestant as he reveals his Emmerdale stint to Bradley Walsh.

DURING FRIDAY’S SHOW, THE CHASE frontman Bradley Walsh was taken aback when one of the contestants revealed that the ITV quiz show wasn’t their first foray onto the small screen.

Charlotte, Kenny, Erin, and Lewis, four aspiring quizzers, were welcomed onto The Chase on Friday afternoon, hoping to win life-changing sums of money.

They’d have to defeat Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty in a series of head-to-head battles to do so.

Charlotte was the first player up, but her £6,000 cash-builder amount didn’t get her back to the Final Chase, but it was Kenny’s backstory that stunned Bradley.

Kenny was the second player up to face Anne on Friday’s The Chase, determined not to follow Charlotte’s path.

Bradley was eager to learn more about the contestant before the quiz began, as he always is.

“What do you do for a living?” Bradley inquired, prompting Kenny to respond, “I’m retired.”

I used to be a cop.”

“Right, okay,” the presenter inquired, eager for more information.

“Wow, you retired at such a young age?”

“I was 49, I’d had a fairly varied career, and I’d thoroughly enjoyed it -” Kenny explained.

“When you say varied career, were you like on the beat, in the cars, then a detective or what?” Bradley interjected before he could go any further.

“Yeah, I started in uniform and was a detective for a large part of it,” the Chase player said.

It was excellent; I had a great time.”

Kenny, on the other hand, revealed that since leaving law enforcement, he’s pursued a very different career path – one that Bradley is passionate about.

“What do you do now that you’re retired?” Bradley inquired, to which Kenny replied, “Well, I’m enjoying my retirement; it allows me to go to more gigs and watch stand-up comedy.”

“However, I’ve also signed up with a Manchester-based agency and work as a TV supporting artist.”

“Great, excellent stuff,” a surprised Bradley inquired, prompting Kenny to respond, “I haven’t.”

“I’ve been extremely fortunate to be able to do a lot of different things, and I’ve done Emmerdale, but I haven’t done Corrie yet, and to be honest, I’d love to.”

Soon after, Bradley and Kenny greeted Anne as she returned to the stage, and the two squared off.
