‘Everyone but us,’ says Eamonn Holmes, referring to Sarah Ferguson’s ITV show snub.
EAMONN HOLMES was less than impressed with Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, on Monday’s episode when he learned she would be appearing on a different ITV show, Loose Women.
In the absence of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, ITV presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes returned to host the show on This Morning on Monday. And the two had a lot to get through on the ITV show, including interviews with Jennie McAlpine from Coronation Street and Samantha, the woman with the biggest mouth in the world. However, Eamonn became irritated during a discussion with the Loose Women panel when Charlene White disclosed that she and the rest of her co-stars will be joined by a royal visitor, Sarah Ferguson.
In the weeks leading up to the publishing of her debut novel, the Duchess of York has made a number of television appearances.
Sarah’s debut novel, Her Heart for a Compass, was released earlier this month, and the queen has promoted it on shows like BBC’s The One Show and ITV’s Lorraine.
She spoke on the Loose Women panel on Monday about breaking into the world of romance novels, but Eamonn and Ruth were disappointed that she didn’t appear on This Morning to give the facts.
After Charlene beaming into the This Morning studio to tease what was to come on the broadcast, the time arrived: “Hi guys!”
“Now, aren’t we all on our best behavior today, ladies, because we’re being mentioned by royalty?” Charlene said.
In the studio, a triumphant melody played as the Loose Women star continued, “We surely are.”
“Yes, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, will be dropping by to talk about life as a grandmother and why her new romance novel may be adapted into a film.
“So the Duchess of York, Nadia [Sawalha], Penny [Lancaster], and Jane [Moore] will be joining me, Nadia [Sawalha], Penny [Lancaster], and Jane [Moore] from 12:30pm.”
When the camera returned to Eamonn and Ruth, Ruth couldn’t help but tease her co-stars, saying, “Oooo, look at you with royalty.”
Ruth thanked Charlene, but Eamonn found an opportunity for a complaint before going on with the show.
“So she’s been on everyone’s show but ours,” an irritated Eamonn stated, referring to the Duchess of York.
