Priscilla Presley, Elvis Presley’s former wife, has revealed how Lisa Marie’s name was decided and what a boy would have been named if they had a son.
Elvis Presley and his wife Priscilla Presley only had one kid, Lisa Marie. And, during a fan Q&A on her official Facebook page a few years back, The King’s only wife revealed how they came up with the name for their daughter. “I got a book of baby names for Elvis and me to choose from,” she explained.
“We would lay in bed night after night looking over all the names that might sound well together,” Priscilla added.
“We thought that Lisa Marie was a lovely young lady…
She didn’t get her name from anyone.”
Elvis and her son would have been nicknamed if they had a male, according to the now 75-year-old.
“I loved the name John Baron for a boy…he agreed,” she said. Priscilla, on the other hand, had to refute a rumor concerning Lisa Marie’s name.

“I heard it was mentioned somewhere that we may have taken the name Marie after Col. Parker, his manager’s wife, who was named Marie,” Priscilla explained.
“That isn’t correct. We simply liked the sound of those two names together.”
The former wife of Elvis Presley lost her mother Ann, who was The King’s mother-in-law, earlier this week when she died at the age of 95.
“I am heartbroken,” Priscilla wrote on Instagram. My lovely mother went away today. She was the ray of sunshine in our life. She never wanted to be the center of attention.”

“Her children were her everything,” Priscilla added. Mom, may you rest in peace. You’ll be with us at all times.”
Elvis Presley’s former mother-in-law had married a US Navy pilot named James Wagner during WWII.
In August 1944, the 23-year-old military man and the 18-year-old Ann married, and in May 1945, Ann gave birth to Priscilla Wagner.
But tragedy followed six months later when James was killed in a plane crash while returning home on leave.
