During the second live show, Anton Du Beke reveals what he finds ‘awkward’ as a Strictly pro.

ANTON DU BEKE has revealed what he felt “awkward” as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing for the first time.

During Saturday night’s live episode, Strictly Come Dancing 2021 judge Anton Du Beke shared his experience as a professional dancer. On the dance floor, the 55-year-old ballroom dancer stated that one dance in particular made him feel like he was going through a “mid-life crisis.”

Following a performance by fellow pro Giovanni Pernice and EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis, the BBC favourite delivered his remarks.

The couple had just finished dancing to the Gibson Brothers’ Cuban salsa.

Anton commended the duo for their lively routine and admitted that doing the Latin dance as a pro on the competition made him feel “awkward.”

The dancer has appeared in 18 seasons of Strictly Come Dancing and is the only professional to have appeared on the show from its inception in 2004.

Anton gave the dancers seven points after saying, “I personally always felt a little weird doing salsa.”

“When I started doing the salsa, I constantly felt like I was having a mid-life crisis.”

“As amazing as I am, I could never quite get into the groove,” he said, “but you had it from the beginning.”

“From the ankles up, I like everything you do.” The feet don’t operate as well as I’d want, but the rest of the body is fantastic. Keep up the good work. “I adore it,” Anton exclaimed.

Giovanni and Rose received a total of 26 points for their performance, putting them in the center of the leaderboard in week two.

Sara Davies of Dragons’ Den and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec are at the top of the table after starting at the bottom after the first live episode.

Nina Wadia and Neil Jones, both of EastEnders, are at the bottom of the table this week with only 18 points.

The first elimination of the 2021 season will take place tonight.
