In the penultimate episode, Sam Obisanya (Toheeb Jimoh) took his team over the finish line and helped his team in getting a sensational victory. The team will play Brentford in the final league game and they just need to draw the game to get qualified for the Premier League. The game doesn’t start off well for Richmond as we see the team trailing by 2 goals in the first half.

During the break, a pep talk by Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) reignites the belief in every player that they can still win the game. The team comes out with a better approach and Sam scores a scintillating goal. They just need one more goal to draw the game and get through. In the final moments of the game, Jamie Tartt gets the ball and as he was trying to kick the ball, the goalkeeper comes in and tackles him dangerously inside the penalty box.

The on-field umpire gives Richmond a penalty kick and it’s Jamie with the ball. However, he takes the surprising decision of giving the ball to Dani Rojas (Cristo Fernandez). For the uninitiated, it was Dani who couldn’t score the penalty in Season 1 because of an accident. It was time for him to be the hero once again. He gets ready for the penalty and takes a deep breath, believing in himself that he can do it. Dani takes the penalty and scores. The game ends in a draw with Richmond scoring.
