Dick Strawbridge of Escape to the Chateau is accused of sabotaging a portion of the family house.

As they worked on their wildflower meadow project, wife Angel Adoree questioned whether ESCAPE TO THE CHATEAU’s Dick Strawbridge was “sabotaging” the Orangery.

For several years, Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree have been refurbishing their 19th century French Chateau into a business and dream home.

The beautiful home, formally known as Chateau-de-la-Motte Husson, has been owned by the Baglioni family for almost 400 years. Angel was less than impressed with Dick’s idea to build a flower field in an old episode of Channel 4’s Escape to the Chateau.

Dick was on a mission to clean up the mess he’d made outside the chateau five months before.

He’d chosen to dig up 3,500 square meters of grass in front of the Orangery to construct a wildflower meadow.

Angel approached her husband, looking dissatisfied with his job, and questioned, “Is it supposed to look like that?” It appears to be well-coordinated sabotage.”

“This will be all wild-flowers when we finish,” he joked, seeing her despair. “Believe in me.”

Dick indicated that he was keen to show that all of his hard work had been worthwhile, and that he was counting on Quentin to assist him with the massive jobs around the chateau.

“This is a hearse, hearse de prairie,” Dick said, pulling a rusted object from the car. It’s basically, I’m not sure what it’ll be when we get it out here, but I’m hoping it’ll be a rake.”

When Quentin and Dick realized it didn’t come with any directions, they reached a brick wall, with the former army guy wondering, “How does it go together?”

“Go on, put it together for me, show me how it happens,” he urged jokingly to Quentin.

“It’s like a puzzle!” exclaims the narrator. Quentin was ecstatic.

“You must have asked the farmer how everything is going?” Dick inquired.

“He didn’t know how to operate it; it belonged to his grandfathers a long time ago,” Quentin stated, realizing they’d be there for a while.

The rake was old and rusted, but it appeared to be working after a few runs around the tractor.

The second part of the flower meadow, which featured Dick planting wildflower seeds, began later in the show.
