‘Development Arrested’: where is the cast now?

While Arrested Development today has a strong fan base, the series early on experienced low ratings and cancellation. Die-hard fans were calling for a renovation, and new life was given to the series, only to be canceled again.

But something changed when Netflix picked up the film.

Fans liked the show so much that it was agreed by Netflix to make more episodes. The series actually became one of the first originals on Netflix. Part of the reason why the series was so successful had to do with its outstanding cast. There were several significant names in Arrested Development’s credits.

Jason Bateman: Bluth Michael

Most of Arrested Development revolves around Michael Bluth and his association with the Bluths, his wealthy, eccentric, somewhat treacherous family. The character is played by Jason Bateman.

Bateman moved on to streaming services after Arrested Development. He’s starring in another original on Netflix, Ozark.

George Michael Bluth: Michael Cera

In “Arrested Development.” George Michael, Michael Bluth’s son, offers plenty of comedic relief. The character who maintains his relationships with his extended family in an uncomfortable way is portrayed by Michael Cera.

Cera is known for his comedy talents and has made the transition to the big screen effortlessly from the small screen. In recent times, one of the most notable roles for Cera was as the voice of Robin in The Lego Batman Movie. He was cast alongside Will Arnett, another alum of Arrested Development, who played Batman.

Maeby Funke: Alia Shawkat

Alongside Cera, Alia Shawkat worked to make the friendship between Maeby Funke and her cousin George Michael as uncomfortable as possible. Even after Arrested Development, Shawkat continued to make appearances in movies and on television. She had a part in the Living with Yourself Netflix series starring Paul Rudd.

And as a voice actor, she has also done quite a bit.

Breaker Bluth Tony Hale: Buster Bluth

Some notable voice work has also been done by Tony Hale, best known for his role as Buster Bluth. In Pixar’s Toy Story 4, Hale depicted Forky.

Fans enjoyed the naivety of Forky, which resembled that of Buster Bluth in certain respects.

Both characters were completely shielded and had almost no comprehension of how the world worked.

The only difference is that Buster was a grown man, and a toy made of garbage was Forky.

Portia de Rossi, who played Lindsay Bluth Funke, who was stunning but sadly flawed, chose to withdraw from acting. To justify her decision, she appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”. She said that she was not a fan of pressing for her acting job and wanted a new challenge in the form of starting a company. She is involved in numerous charitable organizations as well.
