Danny Dyer’s departure from EastEnders is being described as “explosive drama” by the BBC.

Danny Dyer, star of EASTENDERS, will soon bid Albert Square farewell, as the BBC has confirmed the actor’s departure from the long-running soap.

Danny Dyer first appeared on EastEnders in 2013 as a member of the cast.

In the long-running BBC soap, the actor portrays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter.

His time in the iconic Albert Square, however, is coming to an end, as the show announced his departure.

Because Danny’s departure from EastEnders is imminent, the show will need to find a new landlord for Walford’s favorite pub.

“Danny will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end later this year,” an EastEnders spokesperson confirmed to This website.

“We’ll always be grateful to Danny for making Mick Carter an iconic character, but we won’t be saying goodbye just yet because there’s still a long way to go – and plenty of explosive drama for Mick – before he leaves Walford.”

According to reports, the actor has landed a new role in a Sky drama series.

However, a close friend of the actor has stated that he is “extremely grateful” to EastEnders for the opportunities the show has provided him.

“Danny loves EastEnders, but he feels the time is right to explore other roles as an actor,” they said.

“He’s incredibly grateful for the show and the opportunities it’s provided him, and he didn’t make this decision lightly.”

“However, after nearly nine years as Mick, he feels it’s time to take a break from the role.

“He’s not sure how they’re going to write him out yet,” they added, “but he’s hoping they leave the door open for Mick.”

If the writers of the soap pay attention to Danny’s wishes, Mick’s departure may not be permanent.

Mick could return to Walford in the future if he isn’t killed off.

Another EastEnders source confirmed that Danny’s exit plans have been in the works for some time.

“Danny made the decision to leave the show this year quite some time ago, which has given the show’s producers plenty of time to plot a massive storyline for him,” they said.

“With Kellie’s impending return, the Carters will be at the center of a lot of drama this year,” the source added.
