Danni Menzies of A Place in the Sun was taken aback when a guest left ‘depressed’ by the search.
A SUNRISE LOCATION During Friday’s replay of the Channel 4 property show, host Danni Menzies was perplexed when a visitor she was assisting acknowledged they were “depressed” about how the search was going.
Danni, 32, was on hand to assist Sheila in finding the home of her dreams in the Benalmadena section of the Costa del Sol, and she was joined by her friend Hayley for support. The presenter had a few tricks up her sleeve with a £135,000 budget to guarantee the guests received what they wanted. However, when it came to seeing home number four, the house hunter couldn’t help but be “depressed” by what they saw, leaving the Channel 4 star disappointed that her efforts had gone unrewarded.
Danni had to ensure that the flat had a lift, that there was access to a swimming pool, that the property had plenty of space, and that there were views of the sea.
Danni put her thinking cap on and decided that property number four, a three-bedroom flat on the market for £148,000, was one of the places she wanted to show Sheila.
It had been on the market for 13 months, and the heirs claimed they would be willing to go to the very top of the guest’s price range.
The correct buyer would have access to the common pool, a huge living room and dining room, as well as a separate kitchen, which are all located on the first floor.
Sheila and Hayley were given the opportunity to look around the house on their own, and while they loved it, they didn’t think it was “the one.”
Sheila acknowledged to Danni on the terrace that she was feeling “a little gloomy” after the watching, prompting the host to inquire as to why.
“What is causing us sadness?” She inquired, and the guest explained that while she had desired an extra room and more space, the kitchen was small in compared to other places they’d seen.
The views of the sea weren’t fantastic, either, so she told Danni she wouldn’t be renting the flat.
Although perplexed, the property expert was unconcerned because she had received a better response from the other homes.
Property number three, in particular, appeared to be a great winner. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
