Dan Walker says his goodbyes to his ‘wonderful’ Strictly Come Dancing co-star.
Dan Walker has expressed his regret about his co-departure star’s from Strictly Come Dancing.
Strictly Come Dancing returns this weekend with the first elimination of the dancing competition’s stars. Dan Walker, the host of BBC Breakfast, has spoken out about how “gutted” he is that Nina Wadia has left the show.
The Strictly Come Dancing performers went to the dancefloor this weekend in the hopes of impressing the judges and the viewers at home.
Unfortunately, one of the stars had to leave the show after only two weeks of dancing routines.
Nina was the unfortunate star after a dance-off against Katie McGlynn and Gorka Marquez.
She and her partner Neil Jones left after performing their Tango to Eurythmics’ Would I Lie To You?
Dan rushed to social media to express his displeasure with the news and to bid his co-star farewell.
“I know it’s only a TV program, but I’m sorry to see @Nina Wadia leave,” he said to his 725,000 followers.
“With her smile, friendliness, and sense of humour, Nina is an outstanding woman who brightens every room she goes into.
“She will be missed by all of us,” the broadcaster added.
On the show, Dan is paired with professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova.
They scored 26 points in a Paso Doble this past weekend.
Because of their combined judges and audience scores, they dodged the dreadful dance-off in Sunday evening’s performance.
Nina stated of her departure from the show, “It’s been a lot of fun, thank you very much.” Thank you for introducing me to [Neil].” “You’ve been a dream,” her professional colleague Neil said.
“I’m on the show with my second partner. Nobody else would have been acceptable.
“You’ve been amazing and a lot of fun.
“We’re like a married couple – both of your spouses are here tonight!”
It’s been a lot of fun together; you stated you wanted to dance, and you’ve already performed two amazing dances.
“I’m incredibly, incredibly proud of you.”
Neil and Nina’s farewell interview will air later today on the spin-off series It Takes Two.
Next week, Strictly Come Dancing returns with the much-anticipated movie week.
