Dan Walker is ‘gutted’ by his exit from Strictly Come Dancing as he sends a beautiful letter to his wife.
During Sunday night’s Strictly Come Dancing results program, Dan Walker was left “gutted” when he sent a letter to his wife thanking her for allowing him to compete in the BBC competition.
After finishing 13th on the scoreboard during Saturday’s episode, Dan Walker and Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova avoided the dance-off. The pair’s Sleeping Beauty-inspired routine failed to wow the judges, but they appeared to be a popular with viewers of the BBC show, as they were given a pass to compete in week four of the competition. Unfortunately, Katie McGlynn and Judi Love, two of his co-stars, were in the firing line and he was “gutted” for them.
“Left there to the end,” Dan was questioned by host Claudia Winkleman after being saved by the public vote. “How tense were you?” “I’m just a little disappointed for Katie and Judi because we’re all getting on extremely well,” the BBC Breakfast host answered.
“They are amazing human beings,” he said, “and no one wants to be in that dance off, so I wish them all the best,” he said before thanking the home viewers for ensuring he didn’t leave early.
“I’d also like to express my gratitude to those who kept us in because I was fully expecting to be Foxtrotting again, so thank you very much.”
Before Claudia mentioned his wife, Sarah, he said, “You [Nadiya] were excellent, I will try and do better next time.”
“I know you want to congratulate your wife Sarah on her transformation into Wonder Woman,” the host stated to the candidate.
“Well, when I was in training with Nadiya, she was looking after three kids and doing everything school-related, even putting out the trash,” Dan remarked.
“Basically, I’m doing the rest of the family’s work.” She’s incredible, and I’m grateful to [Sarah] for letting me come here and learn to dance.
“I’m not sure how long it’ll last,” he stated before announcing what he and Nadiya will be dancing to next week.
The two will do a Cha Cha Cha to the MC Hammer song Can’t Touch This.
Dan Walker says, “I’ll do the bins as soon as I can.”
Regrettably, this happened while Dan was away. “Brinkwire News Summary.”
