Countess of Wessex in blue for charity bicycle race dubbed “Sophie the Great”

SOPHIE, Countess of Wessex, wore a smart athletic blue ensemble to a charity cycle today. To honor the Vision Foundation, the Countess wore blue.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex, is a Vision Foundation patron. On a tandem cycle with a group of visually impaired cyclists, she joined the vision loss organization.

For the ride, the mother of two wore blue to match the charity’s colors.

She wore white trainers with blue detailing to match the blue of her top.

The Countess wore minimal jewelry, including a little pendant with a glassy stone on a gold chain around her neck.

Her necklace and earrings appeared to be part of a set.

The color of the Countess’s sports attire brought out her blue eyes.

The royal wore a pair of cycling-friendly three-quarter-length leggings.

She afterwards added a blue fleece to combat the chill.

Sophie has volunteered with the Vision Foundation and a number of other organizations that help people with vision loss. Since 2003, she has served as the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness’ Global Ambassador.

She traveled to India and Qatar to raise awareness about preventable blindness all across the world.

Sophie’s bike ride with the Vision Foundation today was lauded by fans on Twitter.

“She has really proven how kind and caring she is for others,” one person said.

One user remarked, “She’s a very good person,” while another wrote, “She’s bright.”

Another person commented, “Lovely.” “There was no fuss or drama,” one person said. Just calmly going about her business, focusing on the cause rather than herself.”

One person described her as a “excellent egg,” while another referred to her as “Sophie the Great.”

This weekend, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show with her daughter, Lady Louise Wessex.

The 17-year-old queen competed in carriage driving, following in the footsteps of her late grandpa, Prince Philip, who was a huge fan of the sport.

She has been a long-time supporter of the sport.

Sophie was dressed in a royal blue trilby bonnet with pheasant feathers.

Lady Louise looked stunning in a blue jacket that used to be her great grandfather’s.

The little royal’s day out drew a lot of attention from fans.

“A gorgeous and confident Lady Louise! One fan remarked, “She reminds me so much of a young Queen Elizabeth II.”
