‘Cool,’ says the ‘Greatest Town in Europe.’ The town of West Yorkshire has been designated one of the most beautiful in the United Kingdom.

A BEAUTIFUL and “cool” West Yorkshire town is on everyone’s bucket list, yet some Britons may never have been.

Hebden Bridge, in West Yorkshire, has been rated one of the most attractive towns in the UK.

This isn’t the first time the city has compiled a top ten list.

It appeared on National Geographic’s “cool” list in 2018.

The Calder Valley was recognized by National Geographic, with “hippieish Hebden Bridge as its epicentre.”

Restaurants and small businesses contributed to the town’s inclusion on the list.

British Airways’ High Life magazine rated it “one of the world’s funkiest towns.”

Culture Trip dubbed it “Europe’s Greatest Town.”

But it’s in the news again, this time for a different reason.

Daffodil Hotel chose Hebden Bridge as one of the most beautiful sites in the UK.

The market town is placing West Yorkshire’s Calder Valley on the map on its own.

So, what’s the big deal here?

Hebden Bridge is a countryside haven, with the Rochdale Canal running through it.

The National Trust property Hardcastle Crags is a walker’s delight.

From riverpaths to walks to the top of the valley, there are 15 kilometers of trails to discover.

Independent stores, taverns, and cafes, as well as the town’s literary links, are all big draws.

Sylvia Plath is buried in the graveyard of Heptonstall, where her husband, poet laureate Ted Hughes, lived.

Literary fans pay a visit to the couple’s home and pay their respects to Sylvia’s tomb.

The arts are important in Hebden Bridge, and a visit to Heart Gallery, Picture House Cinema, or Muse Music & Love Café will provide visitors with an overview of the town’s art scene.

The town also hosts numerous art festivals and always appears to have something going on.

Hebden Bridge is also regarded as the UK’s lesbian capital, in addition to the countryside and the arts.

Every year, the community organizes the Happy Valley Pride celebration, which is open to anyone.

Hebden Bridge is conveniently placed between Leeds and Manchester, making it easy for Britons to visit this must-see town.
