Clint Barton’s Journey in the MCU is chronicled in this featurette.
In a new featurette for Hawkeye, Marvel Studios invites fans to take a look back at Clint Barton’s journey through the MCU.
Marvel Studios goes behind the scenes of Jeremy Renner’s first appearance as the heroic archer in 2011’s Thor, through his numerous appearances in Avengers films and Captain America: Civil War, on the premiere date for the new Disney(plus) series.
Hawkeye has had a difficult time as one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ only non-powered characters.
The Hawkeye streaming series, however, allows fans to learn more about him up close and personal, as the featurette reveals.
To begin the video, Jeremy Renner says, “Clint Barton is one of the original six Avengers.”
“And because of this Hawkeye show, we get to share all of who Clint Barton is in an exciting way,” director Rhys Thomas adds. Clint is just a regular guy who is driven by a sense of duty, says director Rhys Thomas.
He appears to find peace, despite the fact that he lacks superpowers, as the first two episodes reveal.

As we see various shots of Hawkeye in action throughout the years, executive producer Brad Winderbaum explains how Clint Barton has always been the human face of the Avengers.
While Captain America and Thor would quickly recover from some of the battle damage, Hawkeye takes longer to recover.
Another advantage of Hawkeye is that it allows Jeremy Renner to spend more time with his Avenger than he would in a team-up film.
“Jeremy is very interested in the character’s truth,” adds executive producer Trinh Tran.
“After ten years as Clint Barton, he knows this character inside and out.”
Renner sums it up: “It’s been an exciting, exhilarating ride.”
“It’s difficult to put into words how much it’s meant to me and my career.
However, when I consider the MCU and my experiences as this character, it becomes a far more personal journey.
“I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes us.”
While it’s unclear how Hawkeye will end, it’s thought that Clint Barton will hand over the Hawkeye mantle to Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), continuing Marvel’s slow build to a Young Avengers project.
Even if he decides to give the Hawkeye to a friend…
