One user asked on one of these pages, which has over 100,000 members, what they should do if their shower drain is stopped.
A clogged shower drain or sink can happen for a variety of reasons, but this particular cleaning enthusiast’s problem was hair stuck in the drain.
“My walk-in shower drain doesn’t come undone to the point where I can’t get anything out,” they wrote. I believe there is a problem with the shower. Anyway, if the drain isn’t open, how am I going to get the hair out? Fortunately, other Mrs Hinch fans contributed their best advice on how to unclog a drain without resorting to using your fingers, a plunger, or hiring a plumber.
One of the most prevalent pieces of advise was to use a baking soda and vinegar mixture.
“Bicarbonate of soda,” one individual said. After that, pour boiling water down the hole. It did a fantastic job of cleaning out my kitchen sink. To keep it clear, I now do it twice a week.” Another cleaning enthusiast agreed, but they added vinegar to the mix.
Baking soda can be found on Amazon for £1.40 and above.
“Bicarb, white vinegar, leave for five minutes, then use a kettle of hot water,” they advised. Baking soda and vinegar can also be used to unclog kitchen and bathroom sinks.
Experts have also complimented the procedure for unblocking a toilet.
Simply pour half a cup of baking soda and half a cup of vinegar down the toilet to clean it.
Allow it to sit for a few minutes before pouring hot water down the toilet and flushing once or twice, as you would with a drain.
When it comes to blocked drains, Mrs Hinch fans recommend bleach and other chemical remedies if natural methods fail.
“You can get things you can pour down to dissolve all the hair and whatnot,” one individual stated. If not, try bleach.” Another guy suggested, “Pour Buster down it.”Brinkwire Summary News.”
