Owens earlier declared that she’s ‘proud’ of her decision to not get vaccinated for coronavirus
Candance Ownes has once again found herself embroiled in controversy after she claimed that “extremely overweight” people should not promote vaccines against coronavirus. Taking to Twitter, the conservative commentator wrote, “If you are extremely overweight—please do not think you have the authority to yell at people who are in shape and unvaccinated about trusting doctors, science, and preventable death. A little self-awareness goes a very long way.”
But soon people started blasting her for her rude comment. A user commented, “So here’s the thing Candace, normally I agree with but not every overweight person is that way due to unhealthy reasons and nobody has the right to do what your saying.” The second one wrote, “You do realize there are over weight people against this vaccine most people in Arizona getting it are skinny things so before you weight shame get your story straight. I follow you because you fight for people but if this is truly how you feel then its time to go.” The third one sarcastically asked, “Candace never heard a thing about Hypothyroidism or EDs?”

A person argued, “BEING OVER WEIGHT IS NOT CONTAGIOUS. If concequences of not getting vaccinated only effected yourself then your outrage would be 100% valid, but being unvax’d can harm others. there are people who actually can’t get the shot like kids who you can easily spread it too.” Another slammed her saying, “This comparison doesn’t really make sense. A person’s obesity only affects their health directly. Getting a vaccine for a communicable disease affects the health of everyone around them. Not really comparable.”
“Stop being fatphobic, obesity isn’t just a matter of one’s laziness & lack of self-control, it is can also be genetic or hormonal so making fun of extremely overweight people is distasteful; One doesn’t have to look slim to be healthy. Promote body positivity & health awareness,” a tweet added.
