Brian May discusses if Freddie Mercury would still be performing with Queen 50 years later.

BRIAN MAY has expressed his opinion on whether Freddie Mercury would still be performing with Queen 50 years later.

Queen, one of Britain’s most popular rock bands, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. However, 2021 will mark the 30th anniversary of Freddie Mercury’s death. In a recent interview, Brian May discusses if Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury would still be performing with the band today if he had lived.

“I think if Freddie had been around now, we would still be doing it together,” Brian told Simon Mayo on Greatest Hit Radio.

“And he’d still say, ‘Oh, I have to do my solo stuff,’ but he’d come back to the family to do what we do.”

The 73-year-old also said that Freddie has left an indelible impression on him.

“The odd thing is, I feel more and more like he is kind of with us in a way,” the Queen guitarist remarked.

“Perhaps I’m turning into an old romantic, but Freddie is in my day every day,” Brian remarked.

“I can always feel what he’d say in a certain situation since he’s always in my mind.

“Oh, what would Freddie think?” says the narrator. Ah, he’d enjoy it, or he’d laugh at it, or whatever. That will always be the case since he is so much a part of the legacy we have created.”

While the Queen guitarist misses his bandmate, he admires everything Freddie accomplished in his brief life.

“You never stop grieving when you lose a family member, and Freddie was a family member,” Brian added.

“But you come to a point when you’re at peace, and you think to yourself, ‘My God, the guy had a wonderful life.’

“We worked together to build amazing things that are still making people happy, and there’s a sense of acceptance and joy that it all happened. It’s incredible that it all happened.”

The Queen guitarist was speaking about the band’s record-breaking Greatest Hits album’s 40th anniversary re-release, which is set to hit No. 1 for the first time since 1981 tomorrow.

“You’re exactly right, that’s kind of gotten washed away these days with shuffle,” Brian commented of the necessity of listening to Queen’s albums in order.

“We thought absolutely, people are going to be putting on every record we ever made, including the hits albums.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
