Brian May appeals to Queen fans to assist him in reaching No. 1: “I’m going to need an army!”
In a recent social media post, BRIAN MAY asks Queen fans to help him reach No. 1 in the rankings.
Brian May celebrated his 74th birthday this week and remains as busy as ever. The guitarist has been working on remastering his debut solo album Back To The Light after Queen and Adam Lambert’s UK and European tour was postponed to summer 2022. He’s already re-released singles and music videos for Driven By You and Resurrection, and he’s now appealing to Queen fans for assistance.
“To go to number one…,” Brian May posted on Instagram. I’m going to need an ARMY! Anyone interested in joining us?!
“Well, I might have some news tomorrow!!! Soldiers, I salute you!!! Bri.”
A short video showing the Queen legend pointing at the camera while wearing a T-shirt of himself doing so accompanied the post.
‘I’m Driven By YOU: Join the Bri-Army!!! – www.brianmay.com,’ his top read, in the style of a wartime recruitment poster.
Brian Harold May (@brianmayforreal) shared a post.
When we visited Brian’s official website, we saw a link to pre-order his remastered Back to the Light record, which will be released on August 6th.
So, based on appearances, the 74-year-old is aiming for a UK No 1 in the album charts with the support of his British army of Queen followers.
Back to the Light reached No. 6 on the charts when it was first released in September 1992.
With over 100,000 copies sold in the UK, the album was certified Gold.

Brian recently thanked Queen fans on social media for all of the birthday greetings he received on Monday.
“Thanks a million for all your great happy birthday messages,” he posted on Instagram.
“I’m absolutely overwhelmed and don’t know how to answer appropriately right now.
“However, as soon as I get myself together, I’ll give it a shot. Thank you very much. I’m in a good place. Bri.”
Brian has begun remastering Back To Light and plans to do the same for his second studio album, Another World, released in 1998.
“Brinkwire Summary News,” he wrote.
