Boaz’s demise is foretold in the romance clue “Could be a fantastic coupling.”

Fans of QUEEN OF THE SOUTH have been debating whether Boaz and Castel would have made a good supervillain pair if the show had gone on for another season.

Despite the fact that the popular cartel drama has officially ended, fans of Queen of the South are already talking about a possible sequel to this year’s dramatic season finale. If Boaz Jimenez (played by Joseph T Campos) had been spared, could the USA Network series have featured another unexpected romance?

If Boaz’s romance with fellow cartel leader Castel (Martha Higareda) had ended differently, he might not have become the dangerous criminal fans learned to despise.

Boaz, a previous ally of Teresa Mendoza’s (Alice Braga) anti-hero, went off the rails after disobeying her commands and executing Judge Lafayette (David Andrews).

He went on to become the major villain of the last season after slaying fan favorite King George (Ryan O’Nan), and was finally dealt with by Pote (Hemky Madera) in the series finale.

However, according to a new idea, a chance of romance could have led him down an altogether different road.

In a recent Reddit post, one admirer expressed particular interest in Boaz’s romantic life.

“Boaz and Castel – Anyone else think they could have made a terrific super villain couple?!,” remarked user Weary-Adhesiveness73.

“At the end of Season 3, they expressed it best: they’re both insane enough to murder their own family!”

“It would have been so much fun to watch them couple up if the show had had another season or two!”

Castel was rumored to have died off-screen when her role was reduced in season four and she didn’t appear at all in the fifth season.

“Truly a missed opportunity,” said another disgruntled viewer.

“She was more formidable than any of the characters introduced in Seasons 4 and 5 in terms of commanding attention in her scenes.”

Because of their sick love of pointless bloodshed, Boaz and Castel could have been a wonderful match.

If they did develop feelings for one other, they may have been too preoccupied with their relationship to challenge Teresa’s authority.

Indeed, in the final installment of Queen of the South, Castel’s departure may have set Boaz on a path of doom.

On the other hand, their collaboration could have made them a more formidable competitor to Teresa’s company.
