‘BIP’: Carly Waddell reveals that she had been struggling with Evan Bass for 2 years before the split.


When they revealed their split last month, “Bachelor in Paradise” couple Carly Waddell and Evan Bass shocked fans.

The pair still seemed like a happy couple in public.

But they apparently suffered for quite some time behind closed doors. Now, eventually, Waddell spoke out about the break.

When she appeared on Chris Soules’ season of The Bachelor, Waddell first entered Bachelor Nation. She went to Paradise for season 2 after the season ended. For the majority of the season, she dated Kirk DeWindt before he shocked her with a surprise breakup.

Bass starred in season 3 of BIP, following JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette. He was drawn to Waddell right away, but she wasn’t into him.

The two began to bond and ended the season engaged after one of the most awkward kisses in BIP history and a surprise trip to the hospital.

Bass and Waddell actually got married, unlike most couples who get engaged on the show.

Season 4 of Bachelor in Paradise included their wedding. They had their first daughter, Isabella Evelyn, in 2018, and adopted a baby boy, Charles Wolfe, in 2019.

The two decided, after 4 years together, to call it quits.

They said in a statement, “We have made the difficult decision to separate,” “We will always cherish our time together and continue to have the utmost respect for each other while focusing on what is best for our family’s future. We greatly appreciate everyone’s love and support and ask that you respect our family’s privacy as we navigate through this situation.”

On their YouTube channel, Bass and Waddell were pretty transparent about their relationship and families. Waddell opened up about her and Bass’s split in a recent video.

“I call this the divorce room because this is where Evan told me he wanted a divorce,”I call this the divorce room, because that’s where Evan told me that he wanted a divorce. “He was sitting right where I’m sitting now.”

Although the split may have seemed abrupt to fans, it was certainly not a hasty choice.

“We tried to make it work for a really long time,” she said. We’ve been concentrating a lot more on children than on ourselves, and I think that ended up being our greatest mistake.

The kids got to the top of the pyramid and we never got to the top of it.

“It’s been really hard for the last two years,” she said. “I’ve always told him that it’s his choice if he wants to leave, because I’m just a person who will never quit. So, what do you do? They don’t want to be with you if someone doesn’t want to be with you.’

Even though Waddell’s breakup has been tough, she is hopeful about the future.

I think 2021 is going to be amazing,” she said. “I’m concentrating on the future, and because I don’t want to be depressed anymore, this is the last time I really want to talk about all of it.

“I want to be happy because I deserve it.”
