Ben Mitchell’s relationship is jeopardized in an EastEnders villainous twist?

Ben Mitchell of EASTENDERS could soon break his husband’s heart if he prioritizes revenge over his relationship.

After his father Phil appears to be facing a life sentence in prison, EastEnders fans are convinced Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) will become the BBC soap’s latest villain.

In the most recent episode, Phil asked his son to run the family businesses while he was in prison, and Ben agreed to do whatever it took to keep them running.

Ben, on the other hand, has been dealing with the painful memories of his husband Callum Highway (Tony Clay) being attacked by homophobes.

Will the character, who has clearly buried a lot of anger in the aftermath of the assault, try to live up to his father’s legacy by becoming Albert Square’s newest brute in a revenge twist?

Soap fans have speculated that once Ben’s father is imprisoned, he could become the next east-end baddie.

Viewers recently saw Phil express optimism that there would not be enough evidence to charge him in the murder of Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood).

When the inspector told Phil that they’d spoken with Aiden Maguire (Patrick Bergin), he started spinning a web of lies.

He told Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) when he returned home that he’d only be in prison for a half-decade at the most because he didn’t want to worry her.

Meanwhile, Ben is having trouble dealing with flashbacks of a homophobic attack on his husband, who was brutally assaulted while he was frozen.

But when he met up with Phil, he kept his emotions hidden, and Phil informed him that he was facing a lengthy prison sentence.

Phil realized it was time to ask his son to take over the family business, including any criminal ventures.

“What I need is for you to step up and run the businesses, the chicken shops… everything,” the thug said to Ben.

“I’m proud of you, Ben, for the way you carry yourself.”

“All you have to do is make a promise to me.”

That you’ll look after the family, that you’ll take good care of everyone.”

However, Ben’s husband overheard their conversation and suspected they were discussing something sinister.

Phil broke up with his girlfriend.
