Bathrooms will be as ‘cozy as living rooms’ in 2022, according to interior design trends.

A BATHROOM INTERIOR DESIGNER has revealed the top interior trends he believes will be popular in 2022.

There’s something for everyone here, from spa bathrooms to nature indoors and statement marble.

Bathroom trends for 2022 are exactly what a property needs to be updated for the new year.

Perusing bathroom trends is a great place to start, whether you’re doing a complete overhaul or just a quick refresh.

While some of the bolder, more quirky trends may not last, most trends quickly transition to classic, timeless looks. As we head into 2022, interior design experts have predicted the top bathroom trends for the year.

Barrie Cutchie, the Design Director at BC Designs, has revealed the top bathroom interior trends he expects to see this year.

“Bathrooms got an extra dose of love in 2020 and 2021, as homeowners invested in them because they proved to be an inner sanctuary away from the craziness of the outside world,” he said.

“As people continue to find ways to make bathrooms as cosy as living rooms, as stylish as kitchens, and with plenty of five-star hotel finishing touches, this has all led to an explosion of new trends for 2022.”

The interior designer has also provided insight into each style and why it will be popular.

The desire to transform the home bathroom into a spa isn’t particularly new, but since the pandemic, homeowners have redoubled their efforts, making it a big bathroom trend for 2022.

The trend, according to Barrie, is all about “taking inspiration from five-star hotels.”

“A tried and true trend, but never more relevant than now, as people continue to seek out a place to relax and unwind in a luxurious setting,” he said.

Spa bathrooms, he explained, aren’t just about the fixed bathroom products, but also about the little extras.

“In 2022, spa bathrooms will be about taking luxury to the next level,” Barrie continued.

Huge bathtubs (1800mm+), double shower heads with huge walk-in wet room style showers, and double vanity units with luxury marble, granite, or quartz countertops and sunken undermount sinks”

Nature has been brought indoors.
