Baking soda can be used to clean stainless steel sinks.

BAKING SODA is one of the most dependable cleansers around the house, and it works equally well on stainless steel appliances and surfaces. How can I use baking soda to clean a stainless steel sink?

Given how often it comes into contact with soap and water, you’d think the sink would be one of the cleanest locations in the house, but it’s actually a hotspot for filth and grease left over from dishes and hand washing. With stainless steel, getting that all-important shine might be challenging, but baking soda will leave your sink streak-free.

Even the hardest oil and baked-on food may be removed using baking soda.

You simply need two primary materials for this method: water and baking soda.

To begin, form a paste by mixing two to three parts baking soda with one part water.

Adjust the consistency till it’s the right consistency and there’s enough to cover your entire sink.

It’s great if the paste isn’t too soupy or watery; it should have the consistency of cement.

You may not need much baking soda if you’re dealing with wet spots or the occasional streak.

However, if you’re dealing with any particularly difficult marks, you might want to use a thicker paste.

Apply the baking soda paste on your stainless steel sink after that.

A small amount of paste goes a long way, especially if it’s thick.

Begin with the most troublesome places, which are usually near the bottom and surrounding the plughole.

Allow for 15 to 20 minutes of resting time.

Wipe away the baking soda paste with a moist cloth after finished.

For optimal results, wipe in the direction of the grain.

Every stainless steel appliance has a grain, so if you’re wiping against it, you’re probably doing it wrong.

You can also remove the paste by running water through the sink.

Using a dry cloth, wipe away any extra baking soda residue and moisture.

You can also spray some vinegar and water on the stainless steel and wipe it down.

This will make your stainless steel sink sparkle even more.
