Emma Stone is an Oscar recipient, but her roots in the industry will never be forgotten. “The “La La Land” actress remembered her early years in Hollywood in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show,” such as the moment she sat at her very first Golden Globes next to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Stone had taken her mother to the awards ceremony, and between Stone’s mother and the famous former couple, a hilariously cheeky moment ensued.
Emma Stone earned her first nomination for the Golden Globe in 2011
At the 2011 Golden Globes, Stone was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her role in “Easy A.” In their interview, she and Fallon spoke about the film, which led Stone to talk about the matching tattoos she and her family got the same year the film came out.
“It’s been 10 years, which is so surreal,” she said, then laughed about how for the past 10 years her tattoo has been bleeding.
Fallon then steered the discussion to the first Golden Globes of Stone.
“My mom and I went.
I went to the Golden Globes for the first time. It was very, very, very exciting, and that’s why I brought my mom with me.’
‘Cruella’ and other live-action remakes from Disney may have a Disney+ release.
At the 2011 Golden Globes, Emma Stone’s mom had a talk with Brangelina.
When Stone, a relative newcomer to Hollywood, had to take a seat next to one of Hollywood’s most popular couples, enthusiasm quickly turned to nervousness.
Her mother then claimed not to know about Brangelina, as the “Crazy, Stupid Love” star told Fallon.
“We were sitting next to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. We were like, ‘Of all people, to sit next to these people at a show like this, wow,'” she said. “And my mom never drinks, and she had champagne that night, which probably wasn’t the best idea, but she had a wonderful time. She started asking Angelina Jolie, ‘Do you have kids?’ I said, ‘You must be crazy.’ She knew for sure! But she was just making small talk: ‘How old are they? What are their names?’ I knew everything, but they were so nice.”
Stone enjoyed every minute of the experience, including the fact that her mother admirably played stupid with Brad and Angie (which, honestly, they probably loved).
“We had a blast, we had a really good time,” she said, “It was a really fun night.”
Stone made a habit of taking her family to shows for awards. She always brought her brother Spencer as her date, in reality.
As well as the 2018 Oscars, the siblings attended the 2015 and 2017 Golden Globes together.
And although they did not have any funny run-ins with Brangelina, at the 2015 Guy’s Choice Awards, Spencer was responsible for a hilarious speech Stone gave. (It’s a reality, yes).
The two had a deal: if Stone won in the category of “Hot and Funny” she had to read the sayings written by her brother (who is a Hollywood stuntman).
And she did win indeed.
“You guys are idiots. I’m not hot or funny,” she said in a speech to her brother. And Spencer… My Man, do I have to say this? The f*cking coolest is Spencer Stone. He’s a fucking fly.
Do people say ‘cool’ anymore? And if he wanted to, he would have a professional rap career, but he’s too cold and wants to keep a low profile.
And if Mila Kunis is here, then for the next 45 minutes, he’ll be backstage.
