Jacquie Beltrao, the host of Sky News, slams Novak Djokovic critics.

During the uproar surrounding Novak Djokovic, JACQUIE BELTRAO has slammed social media “haters.”

The personal “insults” hurled at Novak Djokovic have left Sky News presenter Jacquie Beltrao speechless.

After the tennis champion was embroiled in controversy, the on-screen broadcaster defended him.

The tennis player was supposed to compete in the Australian Open but was denied entry to the airport in Melbourne.

His visa was denied at the Australian border, and his appeal will be heard on Monday.

Tennis Australia granted Djokovic an “exemption” to play the tournament without being double-jabbed, despite the fact that his Covid-19 vaccination status is unknown.

Jacquie, 56, has taken to social media to slam critics, claiming the athlete has been subjected to derogatory remarks.

The Sky News host explained on Twitter today that the Wimbledon champion traveled to Australia in “good faith.”

“Lots of haters on Twitter again – @DjokerNole was given a medical exemption (rightly or wrongly) to play in the @AustralianOpen, he travelled in good faith but was turned away at the border and will now appeal,” she wrote, referring to her 87,600 followers.

“Yes, he should have been immunized, but all the personal attacks – really?”

Users on social media reacted to the post, with Jacquie’s remarks causing controversy.

“Personal insults are unacceptable,” Jane wrote, “but he is being treated like anyone without an acceptable visa.”

“It makes no difference who he is.”

“Personal insults are a no, no,” Kate Hull tweeted, “but he is no different from anyone else.”

Others echoed Jacquie’s sentiments, as Becky Miller put it: “Spot on!”

“I’m not sure how it got this far? Surely with all his medical information to get his visa etc, they would have said it’s a red light sorry!” added @thebuntinglady.

Jacquie previously stated that while she did not agree with Djokovic’s “vaccination stance,” she did not believe he should be held in an “asylum” hotel.

The tennis player is being held in a quarantine hotel at the moment.
