Roger Taylor exclaims, ‘Unbelievable!’ as the new Queen milestone of ‘All praise the golden goose!’ is reached.

ROGER TAYLOR has revealed some exciting Queen news that has been 40 years in the making and marks the band’s 50th anniversary year in style.

It’s been 30 years since the untimely death of Freddie Mercury, and a quarter-century since John Deacon left the music business.

With the help of Paul Rodgers and new frontman Adam Lambert, Brian May and Roger Taylor have kept Queen’s legacy alive and well.

And now, as the band’s 50th anniversary year draws to a close, the drummer has announced a remarkable achievement.

The UK’s best-selling album of all time, Queen’s Greatest Hits, was released 41 years ago and has spent 978 weeks in the charts.

According to the Official Charts Company’s roundup chart, the incredibly popular record finished 2021 as the fifth best-selling album of the year.

“Unbelievable, all praise the golden goose that keeps on giving!” Roger said in a statement.

The news comes after the release of a special collector’s edition of the Greatest Hits CD in July, which reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart.

The first and only album to sell more than 6 million copies in the UK was Queen’s Greatest Hits, which was released in 1981.

At the time of writing, total sales have reached 6,912,586 copies, implying that Brian and Roger will soon be celebrating sales of over 7 million copies.

The record has sold over 25 million copies worldwide, earning it a platinum certification.

“Britain’s most popular album of the past 60 years,” declared the Official Charts Company, “with one in every four British households already owning a copy.”
