Antony Cotton of Coronation Street has signed a new contract that will keep him on the soap until 2022.

EXCLUSIVE: Antony Cotton has been portraying lovable Sean Tully on Coronation Street since July 2003, and he still enjoys his time on the famous ITV cobbles.

Antony Cotton has been offered a lucrative contract to stay on Coronation Street.

We can confirm that he will continue to play Sean Tully on the soap until late 2022.

“I just signed a new contract,” Antony, 46, told the Brinkwire on Sunday.

I’ve always said that I’m happy to be there if they’re happy for me to be there.

Don’t fix something that isn’t broken.

“I’m feeling it even more these days because there’s a scarcity of work.”

I consider myself extremely fortunate to be employed.”

Antony has been on the ITV soap Corrie since July 2003, and he’s still having a blast.

“Corrie is like a giant family,” he added.

It’s nice to go to work with people you know and care about.

“For the past 18 years, I’ve known a lot of them.

I adore the people who work there and treat them as if they were my own family.

“I’ve always wanted to say goodbye to that for the past 19 years.”

Due to the coronavirus, the makers of Corrie have had to cancel a number of storylines.

However, now that the restrictions on TV shows have been lifted, there are plans to finally finish them.

“There are some stories that we tried to do but couldn’t because of the pandemic,” Antony said.

As a result, they will take place over the next year.

“I have a huge, dramatic storyline that I’m hoping we can pick up and finish now.”

“Now that we’ve gotten back into the swing of things, I’m looking forward to the coming year.”

“I’m hoping things will be completely back to normal in a year.”
