Angel Adoree of Escape to the Chateau discusses her son Arthur’s dilemma of “not enough room.”
Angel Adoree, star of ESCAPE TO THE CHATEAU, has spoken up about a disagreement she had with her son Arthur when they first started their wedding company.
Angel Adoree and her husband Dick Strawbridge sold their London flat five years ago and moved to France to buy their dream home. The couple, who have two children together, Arthur and Dorothy, have spent the last few years on the Channel 4 programme Escape to the Chateau restoring Château de la Motte-Husson. Despite a few setbacks along the road, Dick and Angel have gradually created the family house they’ve always desired.
Dick and Angel chatted with Graham and Maria McErlane for The Graham Norton Radio Show with Waitrose earlier this year.
The engineer and designer spoke with the hosts about their latest book and what it was like to welcome people back to the Chateau when the limitations in France were eased.
Graham began, “For the last year, it has been a family home.” “Will it be awkward to open the doors to strangers once more?”
“I really felt this place was intended to have people around,” Angel explained.
“We still have our bubble,” she said, “so the Chateau is still buzzing with energy.”
“However, it’s something I’m looking forward to. I know our staff has missed the thrill and enthusiasm of weddings.
“It will feel very normal when it happens.”
Dick chimed in, saying, “It’s strange since we don’t do a lot of weddings.”
He continued, “We always stated we’d do them twice a week for the season.”
“So we may have a dozen weddings in a year, which makes them all the more special.
Dick explained, “It’s like having 12 parties,” while his wife added, “I’m always really committed in all of the weddings.”
“I miss conversing with the brides and getting all the flowers ready for the big day, as well as completing all the other details for their most special day.”
Despite her excitement about resuming their wedding business, Angel moved on to address a problem they were having with their son Arthur.
She added that their son had constructed a massive fort out of cardboard boxes around their stairway, making it difficult to move due to the lack of space.
“We’ve solved the problem.” Brinkwire Summary News
