Amaro and Rollins are going to replace Benson in a new exit theory on Law & Order SVU.

In a new exit scenario on Law & Order SVU, Amaro and Rollins will take Benson’s position.

ORDER AND RULE OF LAW Fans were saddened when series star Christopher Meloni left the NBC series in 2011. Was the rocky relationship between Nick Amaro (Danny Pino) and Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) used as a stand-in for Stabler and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) after their romance ended?

Fans of the NBC crime drama Law and Order SVU have long loved Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson’s relationship, and they had hoped that the two would finally get together. That seemed less likely after Meloni’s departure in season 12. Following reports that Hargitay and Meloni would be departing the team, some fans speculated that Amaro and Rollins’ friendship was a plot device by the writers.

Benson and Stabler were reunited in SVU’s season 22 episode Return of the Prodigal Son after a decade apart.

Fans have been wondering if the much-loved couple will ever get back together since then.

When Benson was paired with Nick Amaro, many people were apprehensive that he wouldn’t be able to fill Meloni’s shoes.

Apart from her complex friendship with Stabler, Amaro became a fan favorite, and spectators witnessed Benson grow as a person.

Following the departure of Stabler in 2011, fans predicted that Amaro and Rollins’ friendship would be dubbed the “new Stabler and Benson” in case rumors that Hargitay would be leaving SVU were true.

On Reddit, one fan pondered, “Were Amaro and Rollins originally written as the new Stabler and Benson?” In their first season, called s13,” they were close to Benson and Stabler. (sic)

The series hinted that Rollins and Amaro had a brief romance after the latter’s divorce from his wife, however the characters never confirmed it.

Despite the fact that Pino and Giddish’s chemistry was obvious from the moment they joined the team, nothing between them really took off.

Another fan remarked on the website, “I’m pretty sure there were rumors of Mariska departing around the time Chris decided to leave, so it’s absolutely probable they were setting up Rollins and Amaro as a “Plan B” in case they lost Olivia too.”

“The main issue is that Amaro has been converted to Stabler 2.0.” (sic)

Stabler has struggled with his temper issues during his stint on “Brinkwire Summary News.”
