Alan Sugar gives an update on Claude Littner’s health while explaining his absence from the Apprentice premiere.

Alan Sugar provides an update on Claude Littner’s health while explaining his absence from the Apprentice premiere.

Lord Alan Sugar, the host of THE APPRENTICE, has explained why mainstay judge Claude Littner will not be appearing in the new series’ season premiere on Thursday.

Following the severe Covid delays, the BBC game show is moving forward for 2022.

Each week, 16 new candidates will enter the boardroom in an attempt to impress Lord Alan Sugar, but one of the show’s most well-known faces will be missing this year.

Lord Sugar, on the other hand, provided the new line-up and BBC viewers with an update on Claude Littner’s performance during the season opener.

“You can see there’s an empty chair here now,” Lord Sugar explained to the candidates.

“Unfortunately, my very good friend and business colleague Claude will not be with us this series.”

“Unfortunately, he was involved in a terrible accident, and I’m sure we all wish him the best.”

However, Lord Sugar assured everyone that Claude was “on the mend” as he provided an update on his righthand man’s condition.

Tim Campbell, another of Claude’s close friends, will be filling in for him in the new series, according to the businessman.

Tim won the first season of The Apprentice and will now be in charge of a new crop of competitors for the 2022 competition.

Later, Claude took to his personal Twitter account to reassure viewers that he will return for future seasons of The Apprentice.

He responded to several fans on social media after receiving a barrage of well wishes, confirming that he is in good health.

“I’ll be back for the next series,” he tweeted.

Thank you very much.”

He later confirmed, “Wonderful surgeons and nursing care.”

“I’m getting back on my feet.”

Following an accident on an electric bike, Claude was forced to take a break from the series.

He’s been a vital part of the series since 2015, when he took over for Nick Hewer.

However, he had already established a strong business relationship with Lord Sugar, having served as chair of Amstrad Spain, Amstrad International, and Dancall Telecom since the early 1990s.

Due to a cycling accident on his electric bike in April 2021, Lord Sugar’s friend and partner will not be appearing in this series.

Doctors were reportedly considering amputating his leg due to the severity of the injury.

Thankfully, this did not occur, and Claude is on his way to resuming filming for The Apprentice’s 17th season.

In the meantime, Tim, his replacement, has.
