AJ Odudu says he’s not going to kiss his Strictly partner Kai Widdrington.

AJ Odudu, the star of STRICTLY COME DANCING, turned down professional dance partner Kai Widdrington ahead of their Musicals Week performance.

With their “almost kiss” moments on the BBC One competition, AJ Odudu and her Strictly Come Dancing partner Kai Widdrington have raised eyebrows.

On Saturday night, the two were the first to take the stage, performing The Sound of Music’s Waltz to Edelweiss.

Prior to their Musicals Week performance, AJ informed Kai that she would not kiss him.

The pair has spent the past week preparing for Musicals Week after being “gutted” to be at the bottom of the Strictly leaderboard last week.

“The public saw we were in danger and they literally came to our rescue,” AJ said in a montage ahead of their dance. “I want to work extra hard to ensure we don’t see ourselves there again,” he added.

“We’ve made it through Musicals Week, and we’re dancing the Waltz to Edelweiss from The Sound of Music, which is essentially a love story, so let’s get to work,” Kai added.

The couple was then photographed dancing in the countryside to The Sound of Music’s theme song, with Kai attempting to kiss her.

“Kai, I’m not going to kiss you,” AJ said.

The couple received the highest Waltz score of the series thus far, with a score of 38, following their dance.

“It’s just amazing being able to open the show on Musicals Week in front of all of these people, everyone who’s supported us so far,” a tearful AJ said.

The host stated that she wanted to do well in Musicals Week to thank everyone who supported her and Kai throughout the competition.

“Last week we were so vulnerable, and it was amazing to have everyone at home supporting us and taking the time to believe in us,” she continued.

“I don’t take anything for granted, not even a single vote or message.”

Kai explained “how hard” AJ had worked over the previous week and assured her that she had earned her spot in the competition.

“We’re not taking it for granted,” the pro continued, “and she deserves to be here.”

A 9 was given to the couple.
