AJ from Love Island is related to the Royal family because his brother attended Prince Philip’s funeral.

Her Lance Bombardier brother was in attendance at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in April, thus a LOVE Islander has a little-known royal link.

Andrea-Jane Bunker, the newest addition to the Love Island villa, has a sibling who played a key role at Prince Philip’s funeral. Tom Bunker is a Lance Bombardier in the Royal Horse Artillery’s King’s Troop.

According to The Daily Star, Lance Bombardier Bunker is a member of the British Army’s ceremonial regiment and is based in Woolwich.

After an inspection by King George VI, the King’s Royal Horse Artillery, which is part of Her Majesty’s Mounted Ceremonial Battery, was formed in 1947.

Since then, members of the King’s Troop have played key roles in major state occasions, such as when the ceremonial unit’s riders carried Diana, Princess of Wales’ coffin at her funeral in 1997.

AJ’s brother was one of the members of the King’s Troop Royal Artillery who fired the processional minute cannon at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in April.

Three First World War 13 pound cannons were horse-drawn from Combermere Barracks to Windsor Castle’s East Lawn for the funeral.

Lance Bombardier Bunker’s girlfriend wrote on Facebook after Prince Philip was laid to rest, “So proud of all the work you’ve put in to make HRH Philip’s send off lovely and honourable.”

“What a wonderful accomplishment you have done, so proud,” she continued.

Tom also attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show earlier this month, where he received the first-ever Best Gun Team award.

At the UK’s largest outdoor horse show, AJ’s brother was the Sub Gun Team Wheel Driver.

Her Majesty The Queen awarded the honor to Lance Bombardier Bunker and his colleagues.

Tom has been posting tales on Instagram encouraging people to support his sister while she is staying at the Love Island villa in Majorca.

“Big shout out to my big sis, making it onto Love Island!” Tom wrote on Facebook. She’s a wonderful egg with a good heart, and everyone who has supported her has meant a lot to her.”

The 28-year-old hair extension technician only joined the ITV 2 contestants on Wednesday, but she has already set her sights on a couple of the villa’s lads.

After the guys’ victory in the Stags vs Hens match, he joined the villa. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
