After the house price boom, the most ‘up-and-coming’ place to live in the UK has been revealed.

A NEW STUDY HAS DETERMINED THE MOST “UP-AND-COMING” PLACE TO LIVE IN THE UK. The Welsh town is relatively unknown, but it has recently gained in popularity.

According to a new survey, Gower in Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales, is the UK’s most “up-and-coming” property destination. The study looked at over 600 regions across the UK and discovered that the town has everything a potential buyer would want. Although the small Welsh town was relatively obscure until recently, it was designated as the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956.

Gower, in Glamorgan, which is known for its gorgeous beaches and wealth of countryside, won the title due to recent increases in property prices, the amount of schools in the area, low crime rates, and a 20% spike in persons searching for a relocation to Gower on Google in just three months.

The survey, commissioned by Boomin, a newly launched property marketplace, looked at everything from house pricing to school quality and a rise in people looking to relocate there.

Despite having a population of only 76,000 people and remaining little unknown, Gower outperformed a slew of lovely towns.

Surprisingly, locations in Wales and the North topped the top 20 “up-and-coming” locations across the country.

Wigan, Oldham, and Leigh in the North West have proven popular, but southern locations haven’t made the cut.

Central Manchester has become a popular destination for Londoners searching for a less expensive alternative to the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

In the meantime, housing prices in Wigan have risen by 13% since 2017.

Buyers are gravitating away from the south due to more affordable homes, a greener quality of life, and more people working from home outside of city locations.

In 2021, Welsh towns were highly desired, with Wales accounting for half of the top ten rankings.
