One of the bravest things she ever did, Princess Diana said, was to confront Camilla Parker Bowles about her Prince Charles affair. “She gathered all the courage she had and asked for a moment with the mistress of her husband alone so that they could have a little “chat.” And while at that moment Diana was very afraid, she gathered the strength to rebuke Camilla.
The princess later said that she cried like she had “had never cried before.” Read on to find out why.
When did Princess Diana find out about Camilla Parker Bowles’s affair with Prince Charles?
Unfortunately, long before she married the Prince of Wales, Diana knew about Charles’ affair with Camilla. She had overheard a telephone conversation between Charles and Camilla weeks before their wedding.
He told his mistress during the conversation, “Whatever happens, I will always love you.” To make matters worse, she noticed a bracelet that Charles had purchased only for Camilla. (It was etched on it with their pet names).
And Diana badly wanted to call off the wedding because of his love for another woman.

When Princess Diana told Camilla Parker Bowles that she was aware of her relationship with Prince Charles,
Princess Diana said that during her honeymoon with Prince Charles, she had dreams about Camilla Parker Bowles.
Years after Diana’s marriage to Charles, one of Camilla’s parties was attended by the two.
All the way there, Charles screamed at her, telling Diana that it was not necessary for her to participate. According to the biography of Diana, however, a voice inside her said, “Just go.”
She agreed that she would “no longer kiss Camilla in greeting” but would “shake her hand instead.”
But there, her defiance did not end.
She approached Camilla in the middle of the party and said, “I’d like to talk to you, if it’s possible.”
“Her biography says, “(Camilla) looked very awkward and tilted her head.” Diana continues, “We sat down, and she scared me absolutely.
And I said, ‘Camilla, I just want you to know that what’s going on is exactly what I know.’ She said, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about!’ and I said, ‘I know what’s going on between you and Charles, and I just want you to know.’
The moment Princess Diana lost all hope that she could save her marriage to Prince Charles
Then Camilla told Diana, “You have everything you ever wanted. You have all the men in the world falling in love with you, and you have two beautiful children. What more do you want?”
“I want my husband.” Diana answered.
Their talk, according to her tell-all book, was not an argument. It was, simply, “dead quiet.”
Then she said to Camilla, ‘I’m sorry I’m in the way. Clearly, I’m in the way, and for both of you, it must be hell, but I know what’s going on.
Don’t treat me like an asshole.
On the way home, Princess Diana cried more than ever.
Diana was distraught on the car ride home.
She let out years of sorrow, rage and resentment in the form of tears after the encounter with Camilla.
“In the car, on the way back, my husband was over me like an evil rash, and I cried as I had never cried before,” she said in her biography. “It was anger, it was the pent-up anger of seven years coming out. I cried and cried and cried, and I couldn’t sleep that night.”
